Sahiwal (UPA News) Under the leadership of DPO Sahiwal Muhammad Usman Tipu, a full-scale crackdown against criminal elements is ongoing. Police Station Noor Shah received information that three armed suspects had snatched a motorcycle and a purse from a citizen near Chand Bricks on Noor Shah–Yousafwala Road and fled the scene.
Upon receiving the information, Noor Shah Police immediately set up a checkpoint at Pul Barshan Noor Shah Road 65-A GD. Meanwhile, a motorcycle coming from the direction of Yousafwala was signaled to stop on suspicion, but the suspects attempted to flee instead. During the chase, the motorcycle fell, and the suspects opened indiscriminate fire on the police with the intention to kill.
The police, in self-defense, resorted to limited aerial firing. After some time, when the firing stopped, a search operation led to the arrest of a record-holder criminal, Khalid son of Yousaf, resident of Thatha Manak Noor Shah, who was injured by his accomplices’ firing. He is involved in more than 15 cases in Sahiwal and Okara districts. His two accomplices managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Teams have been formed and a search operation is underway for their arrest.
An illegal 12-bore gun, the snatched motorcycle, and cash were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspect. A case has been registered, and the injured suspect has been shifted to DHQ Hospital for medical treatment.
