LAHORE: According to the spokesperson of the Department of Municipalities, Punjab, a sanitation fee ranging from Rs 200 to Rs 5,000 will be imposed; this fee will be less in residential areas and more in commercial areas. The billing will be digitized, and the first two months will be sent in the form of a bill print.
For residential houses, the fee has been fixed according to the plot size; Rs 300 will be charged on a plot less than 5 marla, while Rs 500 will be charged on a plot of 5 to 10 Marla.
The fee has been fixed at Rs 1,000 for a plot of 10 Marlas, Rs 2,000 for a plot of 20 to 40 Marlas, and Rs 5,000 for a plot of more than 40 Marlas.
A fee of Rs 500 has been fixed for small business, Rs 1,000 for medium business, and Rs 3,000 for large business.
Citizens will be able to pay fees online from the app, and the government’s first annual target is to recover 15 billion rupees.
