Sahiwal (Farhan Inayat) – Electricity connections to the Railway Colony and Railway Police Station at Sahiwal Railway Station have been disconnected due to non-payment of electricity bills. During the holy month of Ramadan, residents of the Railway Colony and passengers are facing severe difficulties due to the suspension of electricity and water supply. Because of the lack of water at the railway station, the washrooms have been locked.

Passengers, railway employees, worshippers, and colony residents are facing serious problems during Sehri and Iftar due to the ongoing power and water outage. If electricity is not restored, railway employees have warned of strong protests, holding those responsible for unpaid bills accountable.

According to details, railway authorities have not yet paid electricity bills amounting to 4 million rupees. As a result, connections to the railway station, railway yard, platforms, running room, guards’ room, railway colonies, and railway dispensary have been cut off. For the past week, the entire area has been without electricity and water. Despite being aware of the situation, senior railway officials have not cleared the dues. Railway employees say that electricity charges are deducted from their salaries every month, so they question why they are being deprived of electricity.

Sources claim that electricity bills for operational railway signals have also not been paid. Due to the power outage, the railway station, railway police station, and platforms remain in darkness at night, raising safety concerns in these sensitive areas. Employees have demanded immediate restoration of electricity.
