Lahore, Pakistan Cricket Board, introduces a new fitness policy for domestic cricket.
The PCB has made fitness tests mandatory for all regional players before the 2025-26 season under the policy.
Strength and conditioning coaches will conduct fitness assessments of 400 regional players in August, while fitness tests have also been made mandatory for departmental cricket teams. This will be the first time that the PCB will conduct fitness tests for departmental teams itself.
A new fitness policy has also been introduced for pathways and age group cricket; it will be mandatory for all domestic cricketers to pass the fitness test in the first or second attempt.
PCB’s lead strength and conditioning coach Yasir Malik said that domestic cricket is a nursery of talent and there will be no compromise on quality.
