ISLAMABAD (UPA) :The 50 sugar mills, which were fined for colluding to make sugar expensive, have appealed to the Supreme Court against the tribunal’s decision.
In 2021, the Competition Commission imposed a fine of Rs 44 billion on sugar mills for colluding with the Competition Commission to prove cartelization.
The sugar mills had approached the tribunal against the decision of the Competition Commission which had ordered the Competition Commission itself to hear the case again.
The Competition Commission has fixed the date of hearing from September 22 to 25 after the petition was filed in the Supreme Court.
The Commission has said that the hearing is being postponed to meet the requirements of justice. The hearing will be held on a day-to-day basis without any further adjournment from September 22.
