Sahiwal (UPA News) – A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Dr. Asif Tufail, to review the progress of ongoing development projects in the city. The meeting was attended by Director Development and Finance Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed, and other relevant officers.
The meeting reviewed matters related to the inner and outer General Bus Stands, the bus terminal adjacent to GT Road, and the slaughterhouse. Municipal Corporation officials briefed the Commissioner on the progress of these projects.
Dr. Asif Tufail directed that separate spaces be allocated at the under-construction General Bus Stand for buses traveling to Okara, Chichawatni, and Pakpattan Sharif to avoid inconvenience to passengers. He instructed that facilities such as ticket counters, a canteen, a CCTV-based control room, spacious waiting areas, separate washrooms for men and women, clean and cold drinking water through water coolers and filtration plants must be ensured. He also directed that construction work be completed within the stipulated time so citizens can benefit at the earliest.
Additionally, he instructed officials to coordinate with the RTA Secretary regarding the provision of additional facilities. The Commissioner further directed that a separate doctor’s room for the veterinary officer and proper, secure arrangements for tying animals be made at the slaughterhouse to ensure hygiene and cleanliness standards. He reaffirmed that providing modern and quality facilities to citizens remains the administration’s top priority and that projects will be closely monitored.
